I have done a lot of jobs over the years but IT has been the only office job I've had and I do like doing IT but I fear as I continue to age that I may not be able to. ![]() Understand this is not a plug and play setup, you will need someone that can manually wire the speakers and power to the speakers. This way we don't have to have the speakers really loud to cover the whole room. Depending on the size of the room we may connect more speakers in parallel for adequate room coverage. As I noted, you will have to supply 24v DC to these speakers from some source. Doing this will disable the internal speaker in the projector or we will just run the computer input into these speakers. We will typically run these speakers from output from the projector (if the projector supports audio out). The computer or projector will be used to adjust the room volume. Since these speakers are mounted in the ceiling the built in volume control is for mixing only. These are both amplified speakers that have built in volume controls to set the mixing levels. For plaster ceilings (and suspended ones too) we will use the Valcom V-1020C Opens a new window What type of ceiling do you have in the teaching areas?įor suspended ceilings we will use a drop in grid speaker like the Bogen ACD2X2 Opens a new window. I don't know the exact model of projector mount we use since they were up before I got there last week, but Opens a new window looks very close. Opens a new window is what everyone gets now. The speakers we use were recently standardized across all campuses because people were breaking / stealing them. I'm not sure the best method to mount them up there. So now I'd like to mount the computer speakers on the ceiling with the projector so the process for him is exactly like its always been, plug yellow/red/white into the wall and everythings ready. I offered to setup one of the schools VHS players on his desk so that he wouldnt have to bring in his own and set it up each time, but it was not an acceptable solution. It does work wonderfully, but the teacher is having a difficult time remembering how to hook it up. ![]() ![]() So, instead of connecting the white / red RCA to the wall outlet that leads to the projector he needs to hook them up to the computer speakers instead. To remedy the issue for the teacher I purchased a Y adapter and the audio RCA outs from his VHS go directly into the computer speakers on his desk. The trouble then arose when we switched to using computer speakers instead of the projectors built in speakers. The schools new projectors that were approved do not have sufficient volume to adequately fill the classroom. The teacher brings in his own personal VHS player and plugs it into the RCA inputs on the wall that lead to the rooms projector and plays clips/documentaries relating to the class's current topics. I have one particular teacher that is very adamant about the way they teach. Tldr Any tips on mounting computer speakers on the ceiling next to the projector?
